22481VIC Certificate II in Work Education

 

The Certificate II in Work Education is intended to support post compulsory school aged learners with permanent intellectual disabilities to develop employment ready skills, knowledge and behaviours.

This qualification will build on skills learned in the Certificate I course and continue to build confidence and essential skills for entering the workforce. You’ll learn in the classroom and on the job through work placement opportunities. Personal management, teamwork and communication skills will set you up for positive outcomes and a strong future in the workforce.

Previous experience: It is suggested that students entering the Certificate II in Work Education have completed the Certificate I in Work Education previously. However, there are no formal prerequisites.

Assessment: Your assessment might include questions and answers, demonstrations and observations, practical exercises and role play. We’ll make sure that you’re given every possible chance to succeed.

Pathways: When you successfully complete this course you can enrol in another program, such as a vocational course in your preferred career field. You can go on to work in supported or open employment. Importantly, you’ll have new confidence and skills that will help you to do better in your daily life.

Length: 12 months

The course involves:
8 units comprising:

  • 3 core units
  • 1 WHS / OHS stream unit that best supports the focus of the elective units selected
  • 4 electives

Before you enrol you’ll need to:

  • successfully complete a pre-course interview with us
  • be a post-compulsory school age learner.
